"And He said to them, 'Come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest a while'" (Mark 6:31). Have you gotten to a quiet place with the Lord lately? Just you and Him? "And they all ate and were satisfied" (Mark 6:42). Have you eaten of His Word until you were satisfied? If you've been down and discouraged or feel like you are far from victory, the FIRST thing to ask yourself is...have you spent time with Jesus? Real time. Time in His presence where His Word jumps off the page and into your heart?
If you feel far away from the Lord right now, remember... "For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You" (Psalm 86:5). Call upon the Lord...be refreshed in the REALITY of His presence! The more we live day by day apart from experiencing His presence, the more we live weak and hungry lives. We all are going to find a way to meet our souls needs somehow...let's not turn to idols but to the true and living God!
If there is one MAIN THING the enemy goes after...it's your time spent with the Lord. Remember that...

I was driving to work the other day feeling really down and exhausted, because I am trying to adjust to my new schedule with work, school, and an internship. I started to cry while driving, so I just turned off the music and started praying out loud in my car. I pray there a lot because driving is often the only time I get to myself. I cannot describe how much better I felt after doing that. I told God that I am very grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been given and I just wanted some reassurance that I was juggling everything the way he has planned for me. The best way to explain it was that I felt lighter after praying and I was in a much better mood. I love knowing that I can just stop, talk to Him, and feel guided in the right direction almost immediately after. Your blogs are wonderful Rachel and very therapeutic to me.
Love,
Emily
Amen! This reminds me of the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:41-42 For Jesus said Martha , Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part.
Oh, how I need to be more like Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus and not being consumed with the business of this world.
